Director of Marketing

Direct Reports

Content & CRM Manager

Based

North West UK – Primary Office: Leeds (Some travel requirement for meetings)

Role Purpose

Lead Horizon’s day-to-day marketing function and act as principal deputy to the Director of Marketing. Turn strategy into a prioritised programme of campaigns, events, digital activity, sales enablement and brand development, taking ownership from planning through to delivery. Manage the Content & CRM Manager and work closely with Revenue Growth, Client Strategy, Product and senior leaders. Set clear priorities, improve ways of working and take accountability for agreed MQL and marketing-generated pipeline targets.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Planning and Delivery

  • Translate strategy into annual, quarterly and monthly plans, supported by an integrated calendar covering campaigns, content, digital, events, partnerships and sales activity.
  • Set priorities, owners and deadlines; track progress, dependencies, risks and decisions; and manage new requests with clear recommendations on trade-offs and resources.

Team Leadership and Ways of Working

  • Manage, support and develop the Content & CRM Manager, and deputise for the Director where appropriate.
  • Own daily workflows, briefs, planning, reviews and approvals. Establish clear request processes and secure the information, access and internal input needed for delivery.

Campaigns and Demand Generation

  • Own delivery against agreed MQL and marketing-generated pipeline targets, optimising activity to improve lead quality, conversion and commercial results.
  • Lead integrated campaigns aligned to commercial priorities and target sectors, with briefs defining audiences, propositions, channels, assets, timings and success measures.
  • Coordinate HubSpot, website, LinkedIn, events, partnerships and sales outreach. Work with the Content & CRM Manager on journeys, content and follow-up, using performance findings to improve results.

Events, Partnerships and Market Presence

  • Own conferences, roundtables, webinars, sponsorships and hosted events, assessing audience fit, commercial value, cost and resource needs.
  • Manage suppliers, speakers, promotion, sales coordination and follow-up. Identify relevant partnerships, awards and profile-building opportunities, each with a clear purpose and audience.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Brand, Website and Product Marketing

  • Ensure consistent brand, positioning and messaging, supporting the Director in embedding Horizon’s narrative and product proposition across the business.
  • Own the website roadmap with the Content & CRM Manager, developers and agencies.
  • Coordinate go-to-market activity for platform capabilities, services and sector propositions, keeping customer-facing materials accurate, current and aligned to the product roadmap.

Sales Alignment and Enablement

  • Act as Revenue Growth’s main day-to-day marketing partner, translating commercial priorities into campaigns and enablement activity.
  • Agree MQL criteria, lead handover, follow-up and feedback processes with Sales. Track progression from MQL to qualified opportunity, addressing gaps in lead quality and conversion.
  • Prioritise presentations, credentials, case studies, one-page overviews and campaign support against agreed commercial priorities, keeping requests aligned to the marketing plan.

Budgets, Agencies and Suppliers

  • Manage agreed budgets, committed spend and forecasts. Lead agencies, freelancers, media partners and suppliers against clear briefs and deliverables, monitoring quality, performance and value.
  • Identify gaps requiring specialist support and recommend appropriate external resources.

Performance and Reporting

  • Own reporting and regular performance reviews, combining campaign, content, HubSpot, website, event and pipeline data, with clear visibility of performance against MQL and pipeline targets.
  • Provide concise updates and recommendations to the Director and senior stakeholders, using evidence to refine priorities, channel investment and the marketing plan.

Key Measures of Success

  • Planning and delivery: A prioritised plan is delivered consistently, with reliable visibility of deadlines, risks and results, and reactive requests kept under control.
  • Commercial contribution: Agreed MQL and marketing-generated pipeline targets are achieved, with clear reporting on lead quality, conversion, campaign effectiveness and contribution to revenue. Sales receives timely, relevant materials that are used.
  • Brand and market presence: Consistent, differentiated positioning; greater visibility in retail, sport, hospitality and gaming; and coordinated support for launches and major initiatives.
  • Team and operations: Clear priorities, roles and approvals; strong delivery and development of the Content & CRM Manager; and reduced routine coordination for the Director, freeing time for strategy, narrative and senior business priorities.
