Ready to step into a high impact marketing leadership role overseeing a seven figure budget and a talented team? National Express is hiring a Senior Marketing Manager to steer our brand vision, inspire creative output, and drive digital performance across mobile first channels.
Reporting to the Lead Marketing Officer, you will lead a cross functional internal team and direct top tier creative and media agencies. You will translate high level commercial priorities into compelling marketing strategies that capture cultural moments, boost brand consideration, and deliver digital sales through our website and app.
This is a hybrid role based out of NX House in Birmingham (3 days a week in office).
What you will actually be doing
- Strategic Leadership: Oversee a large team and lead cross functional workstreams across commercial, digital, and brand marketing.
- Manage 7 Figure Budgets: Direct a major marketing budget targeting key trading periods to maximize both brand awareness and performance KPIs.
- Inspire Agency Partners: Craft inspiring creative briefs for above the line agencies and manage external relationships to deliver industry leading work.
- Champion Mobile & Performance: Drive strategic alignment across social, influencer marketing, performance channels (PPC, Affiliates, Paid Social), and physical network touchpoints.
- Real Time Campaign Optimization: Use consumer data and analytics to optimize campaigns reactively and report performance metrics to the executive team.

What we need from you
- Proven Track Record: At least 7 years of marketing leadership experience in a dynamic environment, ideally within a high frequency of product usage, low margin ecommerce consumer brand.
- People & Team Development: Successful history of direct line management, talent development, and leading cross functional marketing teams.
- Strategic Vision: Ability to translate complex business objectives into clear, inspiring briefs that drive customer action.
- Financial & Commercial Mastery: Experience managing multi million pound budgets and proving ROI across performance and brand campaigns.
- Digital & Social Expertise: Deep understanding of modern media consumption habits and digital conversion pathways.
