About Airmic

Airmic’s Purpose is to champion the societal and strategic value of risk management and insurance in a changing world. We are the UK and Ireland's largest risk management and insurance association with over 400 corporate and around 2,000 individual members, supported by a network of leading risk, insurance, legal, technology and consulting partners, and affiliated institutes, associations, universities and business schools. Our members enjoy access to a wide variety of face to face and online events and learning opportunities, special interest groups and regional meetings, supported by a competency framework and mentoring scheme. With over 400 CPD hours, networking opportunities, and a growing research library, Airmic supports professionals at all career stages in navigating and shaping the future of risk management.

Airmic is mid-way through a significant digital transformation. Three changes make this role pivotal:

  • A new platform. Airmic is moving from a fragmented Microsoft Dynamics and DotDigital stack to ReadyMembership, an integrated membership platform delivered by Pixl8, going live at end of March 2027. It brings CRM, events, payments, email and website into one system.
  • A consolidated website and email estate. Microsites are being retired into a single site with six pillars (Membership, Events, Learning, Thought Leadership, Partners, About and News).
  • A refreshed brand and marketing strategy. A new brand architecture and a July 2026 to June 2027 marketing strategy built on three pillars: Engage, Retain, Acquire.

The platforms and plans are in place. Airmic now needs someone who can turn them into consistently excellent campaigns, and who will own ReadyMembership as a marketing platform long after the implementation team steps away.

About the Role

The Senior Marketing Manager will own Airmic's campaign plan and marketing platform: setting campaign objectives, building the audience and automation infrastructure in ReadyMembership, and being accountable for the engagement, retention and acquisition results that follow.

The Head of Membership and Marketing sets direction and owns the annual strategy. The Senior Marketing Manager turns that strategy into a costed campaign plan with numeric targets, delivers it across Airmic's channels, and reports on results. The role also contributes to developing the marketing plan itself, bringing campaign performance data and member and partner insight to shape priorities, targets and budget. Colleagues in Events, Learning, Research and Commercial use the role as their route into marketing.

The role is hands-on where it matters most: the successful candidate will personally design segments, lifecycle journeys, templates and landing pages in ReadyMembership. It also runs Airmic's core channels directly (social media, email and newsletters, paid media and web content), using agencies and freelancers for design and specialist work.

Key Responsibilities

Campaign planning and commercial accountability (around 25%)

  • Manage the Engage, Retain, Acquire strategy into a 12-month campaign plan in Monday.com, with a numeric objective, audience and budget for every campaign.
  • Input into and contribute to developing Airmic's annual marketing plan with the Head of Membership and Marketing, using performance data and audience insight to recommend priorities, targets and budget allocation.
  • Enable the outcomes of Airmic's revenue campaigns: corporate and partner membership acquisition and renewal, Annual Conference delegate, partner and exhibitor sales, and learning programmes such as Risk Management Fundamentals and NextGeneration.
  • Hold the campaign budget, including agency and freelance spend, and report return on investment.
  • Write campaign briefs that set objectives, key messages and channel mix, then deliver or commission the channel activity that follows.
  • Approve campaigns and sends within delegated guardrails, escalating strategic or reputational messaging to the Head of Membership and Marketing.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

ReadyMembership and marketing automation ownership (around 30%)

  • Act as the business owner of ReadyMembership's marketing functions: Email Centre, segmentation, automated journeys, event promotion, web content and landing pages.
  • Join the implementation team from early 2027 as a key user, shaping configuration, testing campaign workflows and signing off marketing readiness before go-live.
  • Design and build the lifecycle journeys: new member onboarding, renewal, lapsed re-engagement, event nurture and non-opener re-engagement.
  • Design the segmentation model and own the email category taxonomy and send governance: suppression, consent (Legitimate Interest basis), frequency caps and deliverability.
  • Set and enforce email standards, including single-subject, single-call-to-action discipline and approved templates.
  • Set marketing data quality standards (contact records, segment definitions, tagging) and work with membership operations to maintain them.
  • Provide first-line platform support and training for marketing use, escalating to Pixl8 where needed.

Channel marketing delivery (around 20%)

  • Manage and grow Airmic's LinkedIn and wider social presence, with a content plan tied to the campaign calendar.
  • Plan, build and send campaign emails and newsletters, moving from DotDigital to ReadyMembership's Email Centre at go-live.
  • Plan and run paid media with a specialist 3rd party media agency (LinkedIn Ads, Google Ads) against campaign objectives and budget.
  • Write and commission content for web, email and social, and produce simple visual assets from approved brand templates, briefing designers for anything larger.
  • Keep marketing-led website pages current across the six site pillars.

Member and partner insight, and measurement (around 15%)

  • Define the marketing measurement framework and own the dashboard: engagement, conversion, renewal, event registration and revenue attribution by campaign.
  • Engage actively with external stakeholders, members and partners (through SIGs, events, member forums and partner meetings) to build insights that help develop campaigns, propositions and messaging.
  • Work with partner and sponsor marketing teams on joint campaigns, representing Airmic's audience and marketing standards.
  • Commission and use member and delegate research, such as conference feedback surveys, to test and refine campaign propositions.
  • Design testing programmes across lifecycle and campaign activity, and turn results into changes to the plan.
  • Report monthly to the Head of Membership and Marketing, and prepare marketing input for leadership and board reporting.

Internal marketing partnership and governance (around 10%)

  • Run the marketing intake and prioritisation process for Events, Learning, Research and Commercial, with agreed turnaround times and a clear route for "no" or "not yet".
  • Chair a monthly campaign planning meeting that aligns the campaign plan with content, channel and SIG calendars.
  • Own campaign brand governance under the new brand architecture: "Airmic [Product]" naming, approved templates, and the Tier 1 treatment of the Annual Conference.
  • Build marketing capability across Airmic through guidance, templates and training, so colleagues can self-serve routine activity in ReadyMembership.
  • Select and manage agency and freelance partners.
  • Represent marketing in cross-organisational planning forums, and deputise for the Head of Membership and Marketing when required.

The Role

This position is full time, 35 hours a week from Monday to Friday. The job holder will operate from the Airmic office in Marlow House, Lloyd’s Avenue, City of London. There is a requirement to work three days per week (minimum) in the Airmic office with the balance of the time working from home. Tuesday is currently a team “core” day in the office where we come together and organise a team lunch. There will be occasional travel within the UK, such as to venues for Airmic events, including the 3-day Airmic Annual Conference and Exhibition to be held in Liverpool in July 2027. It's a great and fun way to meet our partners and members!

About You

The ideal candidate would have the below expertise and experience however if you don’t meet every requirement, we still encourage you to apply. Research shows that some candidates — particularly women — are less likely to apply unless they meet nearly 100% of the criteria, while others may apply when meeting far fewer. If this role excites you, we’d love to hear from you!

The ideal candidate has helped shape a marketing plan, owned a budget and a marketing automation platform, engages confidently with senior external stakeholders, and can show commercial results in numbers.

Essential Attributes

  • Accountability for a marketing budget and for commercial targets such as new business, renewal or event revenue.
  • Experience contributing to the development of an organisational marketing plan or strategy, not only delivering one.
  • A track record of engaging directly with external stakeholders (members, customers, partners or sponsors) and turning that insight into campaign propositions and messaging.
  • Confident representing the organisation with senior external stakeholders.
  • Hands-on ownership of a CRM or marketing automation platform (for example ReadyMembership, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, HubSpot or Dynamics Customer Insights), including designing segmentation models and automated lifecycle journeys, not only sending campaigns.
  • Business-side experience of a platform migration or new system launch: requirements, testing, data preparation and adoption.
  • Recent hands-on channel experience across LinkedIn, email and paid media (LinkedIn Ads, Google Ads), with results to show.
  • Has built a measurement framework or dashboard and used it to change a plan or reallocate budget.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK GDPR and PECR for B2B email, including Legitimate Interest and suppression management.
  • Proven ability to influence heads of department and prioritise competing demands without direct authority.
  • Strong editorial judgement: able to brief, edit and sign off copy for a senior professional audience.

Desirable Attributes

  • Membership body, professional association or B2B events experience, particularly subscription renewal and conference sales campaigns.
  • Familiarity with financial services,
