Role Summary
The Senior Marketing Manager is a key role within the London Campus Marketing, Recruitment and Admissions (MAR) team, leading student recruitment marketing across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes while retaining direct ownership of an allocated programme portfolio.
The postholder will lead and develop the London Campus marketing function, setting priorities and ways of working and ensuring budgets, resources and agency support are aligned with recruitment objectives and deployed effectively. Using market and audience insight, digital acquisition, content, CRM, brand and analytics, they will identify opportunities, optimise investment and continuously improve marketing performance and the prospective student journey.
Working closely with Recruitment and Admissions, programme and faculty teams, European marketing colleagues, Brand and Communications, and external agencies, the postholder will provide strategic marketing expertise, influence stakeholders and ensure alignment with recruitment and wider School priorities.
This is a hands-on role, combining management of the London Campus marketing function with direct accountability for programme marketing in ESCP’s international, multi-campus environment.
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Marketing Strategy & Planning:
- Act as the senior marketing lead for student recruitment at the London Campus, working with the Director of Marketing, Recruitment and Admissions to shape the overall direction, priorities and performance of the marketing function.
- Own and deliver the annual student recruitment marketing strategy across the London Campus undergraduate and postgraduate portfolio, including direct accountability for an allocated portfolio of programmes and the development of programme-level plans aligned with recruitment targets and institutional priorities.
- Translate recruitment objectives into evidence-based marketing strategies covering target audiences, priority markets, positioning, messaging, channels, candidate journeys, investment and performance measures, working closely with Marketing, Recruitment and Admissions colleagues to develop integrated plans.
- Lead market, audience and competitor analysis to inform programme positioning, identify growth opportunities and emerging markets, audiences and channels, and make evidence-based recommendations on future marketing activity and investment.
- Determine marketing priorities and recommend the allocation of resources and investment across programmes, audiences, markets and channels to maximise impact and return, while identifying efficiencies and synergies through shared campaigns, content, audiences, technologies, agencies and resources.
- Act as the senior marketing partner to programme and Recruitment and Admissions stakeholders, providing strategic advice and constructive challenge on positioning, value propositions, audiences, campaign priorities and investment, while ensuring activity is distinctive, compelling, evidence-based and consistent with the ESCP brand.
- Support key institutional and external initiatives, including the annual QS Masters in Marketing ranking submission.

Demand Generation and Candidate Marketing:
- Own the London Campus approach to demand generation and candidate marketing, ensuring activity drives both the volume and quality of prospective student demand and contributes measurably to recruitment objectives, with direct accountability for campaigns across an allocated programme portfolio.
- Lead the development, delivery and optimisation of integrated, multi-channel campaigns across the London Campus programme portfolio, setting the strategic direction for audience segmentation, targeting and paid media across search, social, display and emerging channels, with investment and optimisation driven by performance and priority markets.
- Lead the development and optimisation of candidate journeys from awareness and enquiry through to application, working closely with Recruitment and Admissions to align lead generation, candidate engagement, application and conversion activity, with clear hand-offs and shared ownership of funnel performance.
- Support the Recruitment team in developing compelling CRM conversion campaigns that engage prospective students and drive progression through the recruitment funnel.
Agency & Supplier Management
- Manage media agency and supplier relationships, setting strategic briefs, objectives, budgets and KPIs, and ensuring multi-platform activity across Google Ads, LLMs, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok and other channels is aligned with programme and recruitment priorities.
- Provide strategic oversight and constructive challenge of agency recommendations and campaign approaches, holding agencies and suppliers accountable for delivery, performance, quality and value for money, and directing optimisation or changes where required.
- Ensure external creative, digital, media and print resources are deployed effectively across programme priorities, providing strategic oversight of high-quality assets in collaboration with the Marketing Executive, Brand and Communications colleagues and external suppliers.
Content & Digital Marketing
- Develop and oversee the digital marketing strategy across paid social, SEO/SEM, programme webpages, landing pages, third-party platforms and marketing automation, using performance and audience insight to prioritise optimisation and improve recruitment outcomes.
- Set the content strategy and priorities across the programme portfolio, ensuring content, propositions and messaging are audience-led, differentiated, aligned with programme positioning and effectively communicate ESCP’s distinctive strengths across markets and audiences.
- Provide strategic direction and approval for priority campaign content and creative assets, working with Brand and Communications to prioritise video, photography, social media, AI visibility and other content that supports awareness, acquisition and conversion, while ensuring quality and brand consistency.
- Support the Recruitment team with CRM communications, ensuring effective segmentation, personalisation and nurturing throughout the prospective student journey, while identifying and evaluating emerging digital channels, technologies and approaches to improve marketing effectiveness and candidate engagement.

Budget and Resource Management:
- Own and manage the student recruitment marketing budget across the London Campus programme portfolio within agreed parameters, working with the Director of Marketing, Recruitment and Admissions on annual budget planning, resource requirements and future investment priorities.
- Make and recommend investment and resource allocation decisions across programmes, markets, audiences and channels, guided by strategic priorities, recruitment objectives and evidence of performance.
- Monitor expenditure, forecasts and return on marketing investment, ensuring activity remains within agreed budgets and financial controls, and reallocating resources where evidence indicates opportunities to improve performance.
- Establish and monitor campaign and media agency KPIs, working with the Marketing Executive to deliver weekly and monthly reporting on spend, ROI and campaign effectiveness, providing actionable insights to senior management and stakeholders.
Stakeholder Leadership & Accountability
- Act as the senior marketing partner to Recruitment and Admissions, programme directors, faculty and London Campus stakeholders, providing expert, evidence-based advice and constructive feedback while ensuring marketing priorities and requirements are clearly understood and effectively managed.
- Work closely with European marketing and recruitment colleagues, representing London Campus priorities and ensuring alignment with wider ESCP initiatives, strategies and opportunities.
- Advise the Director of Marketing, Recruitment and Admissions on marketing priorities, investment, resource allocation, programme performance and growth opportunities, clearly communicating performance, risks and recommendations to support accountability and timely decision-making.
Line Management & Team Development:
- Lead and develop the London Campus marketing function, fostering a collaborative, accountable and high-performing culture across the programme portfolio, with a focus on creativity, innovation, knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement.
- Line manages the Marketing Executive, setting clear objectives, priorities, performance expectations and programme responsibilities, while supporting their development and effectiveness.
