Senior Marketing Manager (Merchant to Consumer)

About the team

SumUp is building a consumer financial product with a distribution advantage that almost no other fintech can replicate.

More than four million merchants use SumUp, and more than a billion consumers come into contact with our products each year. We now have the opportunity to turn that reach into one of the world's largest consumer financial ecosystems.

Our consumer product is already live across six European markets. The next challenge is to grow it from an emerging proposition into a product used by millions of consumers, and this role will lead that journey.

This role sits at the heart of that growth. As Senior Marketing Manager (Merchant to Consumer), you'll drive the merchant-to-consumer acquisition engine: the channel that converts SumUp's merchant network and their customers into SumUp personal banking customers. This is a rare chance to build a differentiated acquisition channel from scratch inside a small, ambitious team, competing head-to-head with some of the best-funded neobanks in Europe.

What you'll do

  • Plan and execute merchant-to-consumer acquisition campaigns across six markets β€” owning messaging, creative strategy, localisation, and performance reporting
  • Embed consumer sign-up moments into merchant touchpoints, including the super app, card readers, merchant CRM, and merchant website
  • Drive cross-sell from SumUp Local into the consumer banking app, managing conversion, activation, and incentives for consumers coming through merchant-led channels
  • Work closely with teams across Hardware, CRM, and other business lines to get consumer acquisition placements shipped through channels you don't directly own
  • Build and maintain reporting on merchant-to-consumer acquisition performance, using it to inform channel-mix decisions and prove cost-per-customer against direct advertising

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer β€” it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet β€” that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
