Senior Material Planner
Location: Cumbernauld
Contract and working pattern: Hybrid, permanent

What We’re Looking for…
As a Senior Material Planner, you will:
- Drive material availability for site production
- Lead supplier relationships
- Guide the seamless roll-out of new project innovation
- Minimize write-off costs
Responsibilities
- MRP & Order Management: Manage weekly MRP messages and outputs, ensuring purchase orders are placed, confirmations are logged, and raw materials arrive on time for production schedules.
- Supplier & Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the key contact for suppliers and internal teams, maintaining clear communication across the supply chain to maintain steady material flow.
- Project & NPI Support: Oversee material run-in and run-out for innovation, enterprise, and CapEx projects, collaborating with Project Managers to mitigate stock write-off risks.
- Risk Escalation & Mitigation: Identify component shortages, evaluate impacts on site schedules, and proactively escalate critical supply risks to the Materials Planning Manager.
- Team Leadership & Development: Directly manage, coach, and set clear priorities for a Material Planner while supporting peer development across the wider planning function.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate supply chain workflows, proposing logical process enhancements to boost efficiency and support business targets.

What You’ll Bring…
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven hands-on experience in material management and supply chain practices, utilizing ERP operating systems.
- Strong computer literacy with advanced spreadsheet management capabilities.
- Demonstrated track record of managing supplier relationships and cross-functional communication at all organizational levels.
- Direct line management or supervisory experience with a commitment to coaching and developing direct reports.
- Exceptional problem-solving and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize dynamic workloads and manage risk effectively.
It would also be great if you can demonstrate:
- Project management experience, particularly around product lifecycle transitions and material run-in/run-out strategies.
- Experience operating within a fast-paced manufacturing or site-based supply chain environment.
- A background in driving continuous improvement initiatives across planning and inventory.
