The Role

We are looking for a Senior Marketing & Business Development Executive to join our M&BD department in London.

Join the dynamic CoComm team at Simmons & Simmons as a Senior M&BD Executive, where you'll play a pivotal role in a pioneering and fast-growing practice. In this position, you'll work closely with our skilled lawyers in the Corporate/M&A and Digital Business teams, as well as the M&BD team, to lead and implement a variety of marketing and business development initiatives.

We are looking for a proactive individual with a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment. The ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks simultaneously and provide strategic input is essential for success in this role.

What will you do

  • Pitches & Credentials: Lead major pitch opportunities, capability statements and credentials management.
  • UK Directory Submissions: Draft and refine submissions for the CoComm teams, liaising with fee-earners directly and ensuring high-quality and impactful content.
  • Events & Campaigns: Lead the delivery of client events, thought leadership campaigns and business development initiatives.
  • Digital Business Leadership: Act as the M&BD lead for the UK Digital Business practice and Digital Business CBG, driving pitches, directories, events and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Cross-Border Collaboration: Work with partners, regional teams and sector groups to identify opportunities, strengthen international collaboration and enhance market profile.
  • Digital Business Operations & Reporting: Coordinate Digital Business CBG initiatives, meetings, events, leadership reporting and related communications.
  • CRM, Content & Knowledge Management: Maintain CRM data, oversee website and intranet content, and act as a key source of information on CoComm services and credentials.
  • Profile Raising & Communications: Collaborate with PR, digital and events teams to raise the profile of the CoComm and Digital Business practices.
  • Business Planning & Reporting: Support delivery of the CoComm business plan, prepare management updates and contribute to strategic planning and budget management.

What we are looking for

  • A minimum of 2 to 4 years of M&BD experience, with at least 2 years in a professional services firm or relevant sector preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage and implement M&BD tasks with minimal supervision in an autonomous and strategic manner.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading significant pitches and managing the logistics with minimal oversight.
  • Strong event management skills, with experience in delivering high-profile events from conception through to completion.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, with the ability to create high-quality presentations and reports.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders.
  • Highly organised with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • A proactive approach to identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency within the department and the firm.
  • A track record of exceeding high standards of service delivery in every task.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to quickly establish and sustain positive relationships with individuals at various levels of seniority.

Career Level

The career level assigned to this role is level 3. The career level framework provides a formal structure for the business services functions at the firm. The framework, which ranges from level 1 to level 7, clearly defines the responsibilities, skills and competencies required at each level.
