Senior M&E Facilities Technician
📍 Oxfordshire
💰 £300 per day (Inside IR35)
📄 Initial 3 month contract role with strong potential to become permanent
We're seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) Facilities Technician to join a high-tech organisation.
This is a hands-on role supporting the day-to-day operation, maintenance and reliability of a technically complex site environment. Working as part of the Facilities team, you will play a key role in ensuring building infrastructure and critical systems remain safe, compliant and fully operational. This position would suit someone who enjoys practical problem-solving, takes ownership of maintenance activities, and thrives in a fast-paced engineering, manufacturing or laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, lighting and general building systems.
- Perform routine inspections, fault finding and minor repairs, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently and effectively.
- Coordinate specialist maintenance activities and project work with external contractors and service providers.
- Monitor and respond to facilities requests, providing a high level of service to internal stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate maintenance, inspection and compliance records.
- Support health, safety and regulatory compliance activities across the site.
- Assist with emergency response procedures, including power outages, water leaks and equipment failures.
- Provide occasional out-of-hours or weekend support when required.

- Highly experienced within facilities maintenance, building services or MEP environments.
- Technical qualification, apprenticeship, certification or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services or a related discipline.
- Strong hands-on experience working with mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
- Experience within a technical, manufacturing, laboratory or engineering environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and operating procedures.
- Comfortable carrying out practical repairs and maintenance tasks using hand tools.
- Strong understanding of health and safety practices, risk awareness and safe systems of work.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage relationships with contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Experience using CMMS/facilities management systems and Microsoft or Google workplace applications.
