Role Description

The Senior Mechanic is a full-time, on-site role based in the London Area, United Kingdom. This role involves diagnosing mechanical issues, performing routine and complex repairs, and carrying out preventive maintenance on a range of equipment and tools. The Senior Mechanic will oversee maintenance schedules, ensure adherence to safety standards, and support junior mechanics through guidance and training. Daily responsibilities include troubleshooting mechanical problems, maintaining accurate service records, coordinating with team members to prioritize work, and ensuring equipment is returned to safe, reliable operating condition. The role may also involve interacting with customers to explain repairs, provide recommendations, and uphold a professional and respectful service experience.

  • Strong maintenance expertise, including general Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement Preventive Maintenance programs and maintain service schedules.
  • Experience working with Heavy Equipment or similar machinery, with a focus on safety and reliability.
  • Advanced Troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues efficiently.
  • Relevant vocational training or certification in mechanical engineering, automotive technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a senior or lead mechanic role, including mentoring or supervising others.
  • Solid understanding of workshop health and safety standards and best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, service documentation, and equipment specifications.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment.
