About The Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our R&D team in Cambridge and help shape the next generation of Domino's printing and coding technologies. This is a hybrid role, with an expectation of attending the office at least 3 days per week.

This role is ideal for an experienced mechanical engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, influencing product direction and delivering robust engineering solutions.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, You Will

• Lead the design and development of new products, technologies and product enhancements, taking ownership from concept through to production.
• Develop innovative mechanical solutions and architectures that meet product, customer and business requirements.
• Create high-quality CAD models, drawings and technical documentation, applying sound engineering principles to mechanisms, materials, manufacturing processes and tolerancing.
• Lead prototyping, testing and design verification activities, using structured problem solving and root-cause analysis to address technical challenges.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations and suppliers to deliver robust, manufacturable and cost-effective designs, championing Design for Manufacture and Assembly principles.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring while working across multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative product solutions.

Projects may involve precision mechanisms, high-speed motion systems, media handling, fluid systems, thermal management, automation and electro-mechanical integration.

You’ll Have

• A degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in mechanical product design and development within a commercial environment.
• Proven track record of delivering products through the full development lifecycle, from concept to production.
• Strong proficiency in 3D CAD design and engineering drawings, ideally using SolidWorks.
• Sound knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials selection, manufacturing processes, and geometric tolerancing.
• Experience designing and developing mechanical systems, mechanisms, moving assemblies, or electro-mechanical products.
• Hands-on experience with prototyping, product testing, verification activities, and root cause investigation.
• Understanding of Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to influence technical decisions and engage stakeholders effectively.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating successfully within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Experience in precision engineering, industrial printing, inkjet or fluid systems, automation, robotics, high-speed machinery, media transport, or thermal management systems would be advantageous.
