Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Bristol - Hybrid
£48,000 - £52,000 + Bonus and benefits

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a high-technology engineering business, supporting the rapid resolution of live customer and field issues.

You’ll lead mechanical investigations, root-cause analysis and corrective actions, working closely with service, manufacturing, quality and supply chain teams. The role will also involve engineering change, component obsolescence, reliability, compliance and continuous improvement across released products.

We’re looking for:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Solid mechanical design engineering experience within a relevant industry.
  • Experience working in a regulated, compliance-driven environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design, CAD and Design for X principles.
  • Experience with product development through the V-cycle or similar.
  • Ability to investigate failures, identify root causes and deliver robust solutions under time pressure.
  • A professional, calm and collaborative approach, with the ability to support and mentor others.

Experience with functional safety, FMEA, HAZOP, risk assessment or semiconductor manufacturing equipment would be advantageous.
