Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Hyperscale Data Centres

📍 UK or Ireland | Remote Working
💶 Salary: Up to €110,000
⚡ Urgent Requirement | Occasional Travel
💶 €110k. Remote. Hyperscale Data Centres. Serious Engineering.

We're looking for a senior mechanical engineer who knows data centre cooling systems inside out — someone who can challenge complex designs, solve critical cooling problems and influence how hyperscale infrastructure is engineered.

Work remotely from the UK or Ireland, with minimal travel and the opportunity to make a genuine technical impact on mission-critical systems.

The Opportunity

This is a specialist design-focused role covering the mechanical cooling infrastructure that keeps hyperscale data centres running.

You'll work across airside and waterside systems, providing technical expertise, reviewing complex engineering designs and driving improvements in performance, efficiency and resilience.

🔧 What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead and review detailed mechanical designs for hyperscale data centres.
  • Work with evaporative and non-evaporative cooling systems, chilled water infrastructure and hydronic networks.
  • Review CFD studies, hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing, equipment layouts and technical specifications.
  • Evaluate redundancy strategies, failure modes and Single Points of Failure (SPOFs).
  • Challenge external consultants, resolve engineering issues and identify smarter, more efficient design solutions.
  • Support technical improvements across design, construction and operations.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
