Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – UAV Systems
Salary: up to £65,000 + Benefits
Location: Hampshire
Security Clearance: Eligible for SC Clearance
Summary
You will work on advanced unmanned systems is seeking an experienced Design Engineer to support the development of some new UAV platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design UAV airframes, payload structures and mechanical assemblies.
- Create 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings and bills of materials.
- Select and integrate propulsion, power, sensor and flight-control components.
- Build and improve prototypes using modern manufacturing techniques.
- Support electronics installation, wiring and systems integration.
- Participate in ground testing, flight trials and fault investigation.
- Work with software, electronics, software and production teams.
- Support the transfer of prototypes into low-volume manufacture.

Essential Experience
- Professional experience designing UAVs, drones or comparable unmanned systems.
- Strong 3D CAD and mechanical-design capability; Fusion 360 specifically
- Knowledge of UAV architecture, airframes, propulsion and flight-control systems.
- Practical experience building with electronics integration, prototyping and testing.
- Experience progressing designs from concept into manufacture.

Desirable Experience
- Both ArduCopter and Betaflight
- GVC (Line of Sight Certificate)
