Senior Mechanical Engineer - Building Services

London | Permanent | Hybrid Working

A growing and established building-services engineering consultancy is looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its London team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanical engineer who wants to take real ownership of projects, work directly with clients, and play an important role within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment. The business delivers engineering solutions across a broad range of building projects, with a strong focus on quality, practical design, sustainability, and long-term client relationships.

The Role

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering mechanical building-services designs from concept through to completion.

You will:

  • Lead mechanical design packages across a variety of projects.
  • Develop HVAC, heating, ventilation, and associated mechanical systems.
  • Produce calculations, specifications, drawings, and technical reports.
  • Coordinate designs with electrical, public health, and other disciplines.
  • Work closely with architects, contractors, clients, and project teams.
  • Attend design meetings, client meetings, and site visits.
  • Review technical work and provide guidance to junior engineers.
  • Manage technical deliverables and contribute to project programmes.
  • Support fee proposals, tenders, and business-development opportunities.
  • Ensure designs meet relevant UK standards, regulations, and best practice.
  • Help deliver efficient, sustainable, and commercially viable engineering solutions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
