Report to: Associate Director or Project/Business Director.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Manage Electrical and Mechanical engineers within the Project Team, with technical support from the Electrical Associate Director or Project/Business Director.
  • Prove ability to manage multiple projects and organise themselves to meet all assigned deadlines.
  • Responsible for full detailed mechanical design, completing these exercises independently or as lead of a project group.
  • Perform calculation works to prove design for domestics, ventilation, heating, and cooling systems.
  • Coordinate design with electrical design members and review the overall MEP design for completeness against the project brief.
  • Attend design team meetings, report back to the wider design team on progress and actions.
  • Clearly communicate to clients and project teams.
  • Manage internal design program against client target dates to ensure timely issue of information and project financial performance.
  • Constantly seek ways of improving the efficiency of their work and of their team.
  • Adopt the most up-to-date practices and be innovative in their application.
  • Assist sustainability engineers with modelling input data and criteria, including reviewing completed reports for correctness.
  • Show great involvement in teamwork and promote consultation and collaboration with team members.
  • Contribute to the development of junior/intermediate team members.
  • Seek ways of developing their knowledge in other engineering disciplines.
  • Ensure all QA procedures and guidelines are followed.
  • Actively participate in the design verification process within the team and responsible for checking and sign off of junior/intermediate & engineers design.
  • Ensure clients are satisfied with the performance and quality of service provided. Address the client’s concerns and problems in a prompt, efficient, and courteous manner.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships, assessing and acting upon the Client’s current and future needs.
  • Actively seek opportunities for appointments to gain new, repeat, and profitable business.
  • Be fully conversant with current building regulations, CIBSE documentation, British standards, BISREA documentation, and all other general design guides associated with the building services industry.
  • Be IT literate, with a working knowledge of office, AutoCAD, Hevacomp.
  • Must be registered as a minimum Member of CIBSE or work towards accreditation.
