Senior Mechanical Engineer
Oxford | Hybrid (3 to 4 days onsite) | £60,000 - £65,000 + Share Options
Join a growing deep-tech business developing advanced hardware products powered by robotics, AI and real-time sensing technology. This is an opportunity to take ownership of mechanical engineering decisions, influence future product development, and help scale innovative technology from prototype through to production.
The Company
They are a well-funded technology business building hardware and software solutions for industrial and geospatial applications. Their multidisciplinary team combines expertise across robotics, software, electronics and mechanical engineering to solve complex real-world challenges. As the business continues to grow, they are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to play a key role in the next stage of product and operational development.
The Role
- Lead mechanical design and development across hardware products
- Design complex assemblies using SolidWorks and related CAD tools
- Drive product improvements and manufacturability initiatives
- Support hardware development from concept through to production
- Integrate sensors including LiDAR, GPS and vision-based systems
- Manage BOMs, procurement activities and supply chain operations
- Support NPI activities and production scaling
- Lead compliance and certification activities including CE, FCC and UKCA
- Build, test and validate prototypes and production units
- Collaborate with software, electronics and robotics engineers

Your Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial experience in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or Product Design
- Advanced SolidWorks CAD design experience
- Track record of delivering products from prototype to production
- Experience across manufacturing, procurement and supply chain activities
- Strong mechanical engineering and hardware development knowledge
- Comfortable working within multidisciplinary teams and fast-paced environments

- LiDAR, GPS, camera or computer vision hardware integration
- Product scaling and low-volume manufacturing
- Robotics, industrial technology or consumer products
- Compliance and certification processes
- Startup or high-growth technology environments
