About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with deep CAD and manufacturing expertise. You'll apply real-world design knowledge to help measure how frontier AI systems perform through high-quality technical input. No prior AI experience is required. Your mechanical engineering expertise is what matters.

Scope of Work

  • Create and modify detailed 2D drawings and 3D models of mechanical components and assemblies using industry-standard CAD tools.
  • Convert concepts, sketches, specifications, and legacy drawings into complete, production-ready CAD models and drawings.
  • Prepare assembly drawings, detailed drawings, bills of materials, and supporting technical documentation.
  • Apply GD&T, dimensioning, and tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5, and perform tolerance reviews and stackup analyses.
  • Specify materials, finishes, coatings, and manufacturing notes to clearly convey design intent.
  • Review, critique, and improve existing engineering drawings and documentation for clarity, completeness, fit, function, and manufacturability.
  • Apply design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles to optimize parts for real-world production.
  • Clearly document and explain manufacturing processes, design decisions, and engineering concepts in written form.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
