Senior Mechanical Engineer (Edin)

Key Responsibilities
- Act as project leader responsible for the mechanical services design development in accordance with project objectives.
- Work competently on an independent basis or as part of a wider team and be responsible for reporting to senior staff.
- Communicate directly with clients and other design team members, including attendance at meetings.
- Undertake the preparation on complex calculations and comprehensive design associated with M&E Building installations. Be responsible for the technical and financial (where applicable) reporting proposals to suit project needs.
- Manage workload and support a team of engineers and technicians (including verification of design and quality).
- Prepare and take responsibility for the complete engineering solutions design from conception to delivery.
- Prepare technical reports, documents and specifications.
- Assist in the set up and management including planning and monitoring job resourcing/expenditure.
- Establish and maintain a good working relationship with clients.
- Be actively involved in compliance with RSP Business Management Systems.
- Assist in the continued development of others within the Practice.

Preferred Skills
- Experience with mechanical services design on a varying range of projects.
- Management and team leader experience within a multi-disciplined team.
- Good and confident communication skills. Knowledge and understanding of relevant industry design software (i.e. NBS, IES, Bentley Hevacomp or similar).
- AutoCAD and Revit Experience.

Requirements
- Preferably Degree qualified and working towards MCIBSE CEng.
- Preferably 5 years + experience at senior engineer level.
- Valid UK Driving Licence.
- Willingness to do overtime, when and if required. Must be prepared to travel within the UK. This may involve early morning starts, late finishes and occasionally overnight stays.
