Senior Mechanical Engineer

Edinburgh | Permanent | Competitive Salary + Benefits

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a well-established, employee-focused building services consultancy in Edinburgh. With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality engineering solutions across a diverse range of sectors, the business continues to grow and is looking to strengthen its mechanical design team.

This role offers the chance to lead projects, mentor junior engineers, and work closely with clients on a wide variety of technically challenging developments.

The Role

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering mechanical building services designs from concept through to completion
  • Leading and coordinating projects across multiple sectors
  • Managing client relationships and attending project meetings
  • Producing technical calculations, specifications, and reports
  • Supporting and mentoring junior engineers within the team
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary design teams to achieve project objectives

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience within a building services consultancy environment
  • Strong mechanical design knowledge across HVAC, heating, cooling, and ventilation systems
  • Proven experience delivering projects independently
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills
  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
  • Chartered status, or actively working towards chartership, would be advantageous
