As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, and delivery of innovative products and customer-focused engineering solutions. You will contribute through both hands-on technical work and collaborative project execution, applying sound engineering judgment and systems thinking across the entire product lifecycle.

Working within cross-functional teams, you will engage with customers, support project delivery, and provide technical guidance to ensure solutions are robust, commercially viable, and aligned with business and technology strategies.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading and contributing to the design and development of new products, services, and customer-specific engineering solutions.
  • Applying systems engineering principles including:
    • Requirements definition
    • System architecture
    • Integration planning
    • Configuration management
    • Risk management
  • Supporting projects through concept development, design, verification, validation, production, and commercialization activities.
  • Collaborating with Discipline Engineering, Research, Testing, and Product Development teams to ensure technical excellence.
  • Participating in customer engagement activities including requirements gathering, technical workshops, design reviews, and proposal development.
  • Providing technical mentorship and serving as a subject matter resource within your engineering discipline.
  • Supporting project planning, execution, and delivery while maintaining technical integrity and alignment with business objectives.
  • Managing technical interfaces across engineering disciplines and project stakeholders.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen engineering practices, product quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Supporting engineering decisions using analytical methods, technical assessments, and risk-based approaches.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Hold a Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of core mechanical engineering principles, including:
    • Mechanics
    • Structural dynamics
    • Rotor dynamics
    • Thermodynamics
    • Fluid mechanics and aerodynamics
    • Materials science
    • Structural analysis
  • Be proficient with:
    • CAD systems
    • CAM tools
    • Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) platforms
  • Have experience designing or analyzing mechanical systems such as:
    • Fluid transport systems
    • Compression systems
    • Combustion systems
    • Thermal management systems
  • Demonstrate experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Have experience applying systems engineering methodologies to complex engineering challenges.
  • Possess strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Be comfortable engaging with customers and supporting technical discussions.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Recognized expertise within a relevant mechanical engineering discipline.
  • Experience leading small technical teams, engineering work packages, or project activities.
  • Experience supporting bid development, proposal preparation, or customer solution development.
  • Knowledge of product development and engineering processes within industrial or energy sectors.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and supporting technical capability development.
