Take the Lead on Multi-Million Pound Sustainable Engineering Projects!
At Envirogen Group, we deliver advanced water solutions as a premier Lifecycle Performance Company. We are seeking a high-calibre Senior Engineer to join our core engineering team in the UK — though for highly accomplished professionals, flexible hybrid or remote working arrangements will be fully considered.
This critical role offers an exceptional opportunity to spearhead the end-to-end lifecycle of multi-million-pound industrial water and wastewater treatment systems, transitioning seamlessly from high-level conceptual design to impactful field deployment.
We value entrepreneurial execution, offering a uniquely flat structure where exceptional performance translates directly into accelerated professional development. For an ambitious engineer, this represents an unparalleled launchpad to deploy your expertise, drive visible industrial outcomes, and grow exponentially alongside our expanding UK footprint.
The Role: Drive Capital Project Success
As a Senior Engineer you will hold complete technical ownership over the execution and delivery of high-impact, capital engineering infrastructure ranging from c£1M to £20M. Partnering seamlessly with our Project Management team, you will translate complex challenges into operational, high-performance systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Advanced System Design: Spearhead the end-to-end design lifecycle of multi-million-pound treatment systems, serving as the technical anchor for major engineering deliverables from initial concept to final execution.
- Mentor & Develop Talent: Coach, mentor, and elevate the capabilities of the core engineering team, fostering a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous professional growth.
- Engineering Governance & Review: Serve as the definitive authority for reviewing and approving critical project documentation, including complex P&IDs, fabrication drawings, electrical schematics, and comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOM).
- High-Performance Equipment Selection: Execute advanced hydraulic calculations, precise pump design and selection, and comprehensive valve and instrumentation specifications to guarantee system performance and full contractual compliance, while supporting the sales team with precise cost, labour, and subcontractor estimates for commercial proposals.
- Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Governance: Author rigorous technical data sheets, initiate RFQs, collaborate closely with key vendors, and execute data-driven procurement determinations to maintain aggressive project velocity.
- Cross-Functional & Commercial Leadership: Drive critical customer- and vendor-facing technical reviews, while partnering seamlessly with the sales team to deliver precise cost, labour, and subcontractor estimates for winning commercial proposals.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
