An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Mechanical Estimator to join a highly established and successful Mechanical & Electrical contractor based in Basildon.
The business has been operating for more than 50 years and has developed an excellent reputation for delivering major M&E projects across commercial fit-out, refurbishment, infrastructure, technology, data centre and technically complex environments.
Working on high-profile projects predominantly across London and the South East, they deliver mechanical and electrical packages from initial enquiry and design development through to installation, commissioning and final completion.
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of projects, they are now looking to strengthen their pre-construction team with an experienced Senior Mechanical Estimator.
As Senior Mechanical Estimator, you will take responsibility for mechanical tenders from initial enquiry through to final submission, working closely with the wider estimating, commercial, design and operational teams.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
