A well-established and highly reputable MEP Contractor operating across London is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Mechanical Project Manager / Mechanical Contracts Manager to join their team.

With an annual turnover of approximately £70m, the company has an excellent reputation for delivering shell & core and fit-out projects across the residential, high-end residential, hotel and commercial sectors, with a particularly strong track record in residential, high-end residential and hotel projects.

Projects are predominantly based in Central London, with typical MEP project values ranging from £10m to £20m.

The Role

The Senior Mechanical Project Manager / Mechanical Contracts Manager will be responsible for the successful delivery of major mechanical packages from pre-construction through to completion.

Working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and the wider project team, the Senior Mechanical Project Manager / Mechanical Contracts Manager will take responsibility for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, to budget and to the required quality standards.

The Role Will Include

  • Managing the mechanical delivery of major MEP projects.
  • Managing and coordinating mechanical subcontractors, suppliers and site teams.
  • Managing programme, quality, health & safety and project delivery.
  • Coordinating mechanical design and resolving technical issues.
  • Monitoring progress and managing project resources and materials.
  • Working closely with the commercial team to manage the mechanical package.
  • Attending project meetings and liaising with clients and consultants.
  • Managing testing, commissioning and final handover.

Experience & Qualifications

The successful Senior Mechanical Project Manager / Mechanical Contracts Manager will ideally have:

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager, Senior Mechanical Project Manager or Mechanical Contracts Manager.
  • Experience working for an MEP / Building Services Contractor.
  • Experience delivering large-scale mechanical packages on projects valued at £10m+.
  • Essential: Experience working on residential, high-end residential and/or hotel projects.
  • Experience delivering shell & core and/or fit-out projects.
  • SMSTS qualification.
  • A recognised mechanical qualification, such as City & Guilds, NVQ, Plumbing, Pipefitting, HVAC, HNC, HND or Degree in Mechanical / Building Services Engineering.
  • Strong mechanical building services knowledge and project management experience.
