About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Project Manager to join our Projects Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading mechanical building-services projects from initial scope and design development through to installation, commissioning and final handover, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
This is a project-delivery role focused on physical mechanical works, including heating, ventilation, cooling, pipework, plant replacement and associated building-services installations.
You will manage the technical, commercial and operational delivery of projects while coordinating clients, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage mechanical installation, replacement, upgrade and refurbishment projects.
- Lead projects from initial scope and design development through to final handover.
- Develop project programmes, delivery plans and resource schedules.
- Review technical drawings, specifications and scopes of work.
- Coordinate engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and site activities.
- Monitor project progress and address potential delays or delivery risks.
- Manage budgets, variations, forecasts and WIP with the Commercial team.
- Ensure compliance with technical standards, client requirements and CDM Regulations.
- Produce and review RAMS and other project documentation.
- Lead project meetings and provide progress reports to clients and stakeholders.
- Manage testing, commissioning, snagging and final handover.
- Ensure all health, safety and environmental procedures are followed.

Qualifications and Experience Essential
- Significant experience managing mechanical engineering or building-services projects.
- Strong knowledge of heating, ventilation, cooling, pipework, pumps and plantroom systems.
- Experience delivering projects from initial planning through to handover.
- Experience managing budgets, forecasts, variations and WIP.
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and technical specifications.
- Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers and site teams.
- SMSTS or an equivalent five-day Site Management Safety qualification.
- Valid CSCS card.
- Strong leadership, commercial and communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- HNC, HND or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or Construction Management.
- Recognised mechanical trade or engineering qualification.
- PRINCE2, APM or equivalent project-management qualification.
- IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.
