Your Role
The Senior Media & Discovery Manager will own Irwin Mitchell's discoverability strategy across paid media, organic search and AI-driven discovery. This role exists to ensure the firm's expertise, services and brand are visible wherever prospective clients are looking for help, advice or legal services.
As search behaviour continues to evolve, you'll combine media investment, search authority and AI discoverability into a single enterprise capability that supports growth across all business units. You'll be responsible for turning visibility into quality demand, efficient acquisition and measurable commercial outcomes.

Working as part of the Digital, Discovery & Media team within the Business Development & Marketing function, you'll blend strategic leadership with hands-on management, leading a team of media specialists, managing key agency relationships and collaborating closely with colleagues across marketing, brand, business development, insight and analytics.
What you'll be doing:
- Owning the firm's media strategy across paid, organic and emerging AI discovery channels.
- Developing integrated media plans aligned to commercial objectives and growth priorities.
- Managing significant media investment budgets and agency partnerships.
- Overseeing paid search, paid social, programmatic display, video, YouTube and out-of-home activity.
- Driving technical and content SEO strategy to improve visibility and discoverability.
- Leading the firm's AI discoverability and answer-engine visibility strategy.
- Building robust performance measurement frameworks.
- Partnering with Brand, Content, Website, Business Development and Analytics teams to deliver integrated plans.
- Leading and developing a high-performing specialist team.
- Ensuring all activity complies with relevant regulatory and governance requirements.
Essential
- Strong specialist knowledge of integrated media strategy across paid search, paid social, programmatic display, video, SEO and emerging AI-driven discovery channels.
- Proven experience developing channel plans that align media investment with commercial priorities and client journeys.
- Strong understanding of SEO, organic visibility, technical optimisation, content performance and digital PR.
- Experience building measurement frameworks that demonstrate the impact of media and discovery activity on demand generation, lead quality and conversion.
- Strong analytical capability with the ability to turn insight into actionable recommendations.
- Experience managing agency and platform partner relationships.
- Strong people leadership skills with experience leading specialist media and SEO teams.
- Understanding of marketing compliance, data protection and advertising governance.
- Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.
- Strong understanding of how prospective clients research, evaluate and choose services.

- Experience within a regulated, professional services or high-consideration services environment.
- Experience presenting channel strategy, performance outcomes and investment recommendations to senior leadership audiences.
