Senior Media Engineer – Live Production & Editorial Support

Contract: 12 months

Start Date: 1 September 2026

Rate: Circa £350 per day

A global entertainment company is looking for an experienced Senior Media Engineer to join its Live Production & Editorial Support team on a 12-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to support cutting-edge live and post-production workflows, working with world-class production teams to ensure seamless editorial operations across high-profile content. You'll play a key role in maintaining production systems, resolving technical issues, and helping deliver an exceptional experience for filmmakers and editorial teams worldwide.

The Role

Working within a fast-paced production technology environment, you'll provide expert technical support across remote editorial workflows, live production systems and media services. You'll collaborate closely with Production Technology, Product and Engineering teams to troubleshoot issues, improve workflows and support the ongoing evolution of production tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-class technical support for live editorial and post-production workflows
  • Monitor production systems, media transfers and platform health
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across editorial environments
  • Support media ingest, conform, VFX and media library workflows
  • Partner with Product and Engineering teams to improve tools and workflows
  • Gather user feedback to help drive product improvements
  • Collaborate with global production teams across multiple time zones

About You

  • 3+ years' experience supporting post-production, studio or production technology environments
  • Strong understanding of editorial and post-production workflows
  • Experience with tools such as Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere, Baselight, Colorfront, Autodesk Flow Capture (PIX) and Aspera
  • Knowledge of dailies, conforms, VFX pulls and review workflows
  • Comfortable working with JSON, XML, CSV and industry-standard media formats including ALE, EDL and MHL
  • Familiarity with local, SAN and cloud-based storage environments
  • Command-line experience and a basic understanding of APIs
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication and customer support skills
  • Calm under pressure with a proactive, solutions-focused approach
