Job Description
As a Senior Medical Copywriter, you will combine scientific expertise with exceptional creative writing to develop compelling healthcare communications that inspire action while maintaining scientific accuracy. Partnering with Medical Strategy, Science & Regulatory, Creative, Client Services, and Project Management, you will transform complex science into engaging ideas, campaigns, and content that connect with healthcare professionals, patients, and other audiences while delivering measurable business impact.
What You'll Do
- Develop scientifically accurate, insight-driven copy across a broad range of healthcare communications including sales aids, websites, email campaigns, HCP materials, patient education, speaker presentations, leave-behinds, and campaign assets.
- Translate complex clinical data, scientific literature, and medical insights into clear, engaging narratives that support brand strategy while maintaining scientific integrity.
- Partner with Medical Strategy, Science & Regulatory, Creative, Client Services, and Project Management teams to bring scientifically grounded creative ideas to life across multiple client engagements.
- Create message frameworks, core claims, and supporting copy that align with brand strategy, scientific evidence, and regulatory requirements.
- Review, edit, and quality check content to ensure scientific accuracy, consistency, compliance, and incorporation of client, legal, and internal feedback.
- Contribute to client workshops, creative reviews, pitches, and new business opportunities by providing scientific expertise and strategic writing support.

Qualifications
Required:
- 4+ years' experience developing healthcare or pharmaceutical communications within a healthcare communications agency, medical communications agency, or pharmaceutical environment.
- Degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Medicine, or a related scientific discipline, with the ability to interpret and communicate complex clinical information accurately.
- Experience developing promotional and educational materials including sales aids, websites, HCP resources, speaker presentations, email campaigns, leave-behinds, and brand messaging.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret clinical studies, literature reviews, congress data, and scientific publications and translate them into engaging, audience-appropriate communications.
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including Creative, Medical Strategy, Science & Regulatory, and Client Services while presenting work and responding to client feedback.
- Strong understanding of ABPI, EFPIA, FDA, or equivalent promotional compliance requirements.

Desired:
- Comfort and enthusiasm for using AI as a regular part of how work gets done.
- Experience developing message frameworks, scientific narratives, or brand platforms informed by clinical evidence.
- Experience across multiple therapeutic areas with the ability to rapidly build scientific knowledge in new disease states.
- Experience supporting congress communications, product launches, publication planning, advisory boards, or medical education initiatives.
- Experience mentoring junior writers, reviewing scientific content, and maintaining high editorial and scientific standards.
- Experience presenting work to clients and contributing to creative ideation, proposal development, and new business opportunities.
