We are seeking an experienced Senior Medical Governance Manager to play a pivotal role in maintaining the highest standards of compliance, ethics, and medical governance across our UK & Ireland business.
This is a unique opportunity for an established ABPI Final Medical Signatory to influence strategic governance initiatives, partner with senior stakeholders across local and global teams, and contribute to a culture of excellence, transparency, and continuous improvement.
The Opportunity
As Senior Medical Governance Manager, you will work closely with the Head of Medical Strategy & Operations and the Medical Governance team to ensure Ipsen activities remain compliant with the ABPI, IPHA, and other relevant Codes of Practice, local regulations, and global policies.

You will serve as a trusted compliance expert, leading governance activities, supporting key business projects, and driving operational excellence across medical affairs.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance & Governance Leadership
- Act as an ABPI Final Medical Signatory, supporting complex Code queries and approvals.
- Lead responses to PMCPA and IPHA Code complaints and inter-company compliance dialogue.
- Ensure promotional and non-promotional materials and activities meet all applicable regulatory and Code requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement across governance processes through audits, training, and monitoring.
- Lead the development, review, and implementation of SOPs and compliance frameworks.
- Manage non-conformance processes, CAPAs, and compliance reporting.
Medical Affairs Partnership
- Collaborate with Medical Affairs, Business Ethics, Commercial, and Global stakeholders to ensure compliant business practices.
- Build strong relationships across the UK, Ireland, and global organization.
- Represent Ipsen in external compliance and governance forums, including ABPI and IPHA networks.
Systems & Process Excellence
- Act as a key expert user for governance systems, including Veeva PromoMats.
- Support the optimization and continuous enhancement of compliance platforms and workflows.
- Monitor and report key governance metrics and performance indicators.
Training & Capability Development
- Deliver compliance and Code of Practice training across the organization.
- Lead the training and validation of Medical Signatories and AQP Signatories.
- Mentor colleagues working towards ABPI signatory status.
Transparency & Projects
- Support transparency and disclosure activities in line with ABPI and IPHA requirements.
- Lead and contribute to strategic compliance and governance projects across the business.
About You
We're looking for a confident and credible medical governance professional who combines deep compliance expertise with outstanding stakeholder management skills.

Essential Requirements
- Registered Medical Practitioner (ideally GMC registered) or GPhC registered pharmacist.
- Experience as an ABPI Final Medical Signatory.
- Strong understanding of the ABPI Code of Practice and UK pharmaceutical compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to manage priorities, drive outcomes, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
Desirable Experience
- Experience within Medical Affairs, Medical Governance, or Healthcare Compliance in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Exposure to PMCPA complaints and Code case management.
- Experience developing and implementing SOPs, policies, and governance procedures.
- Knowledge of transparency and disclosure requirements.
- Experience with Veeva PromoMats or similar approval systems.
