Role Description
This full-time Senior Medical Records Analyst role is open to qualified nurses, midwives, and doctors and is based in Altrincham with a hybrid working model, allowing some work from home. The role involves reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting complex medical records for clinical negligence, personal injury, and child protection cases, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and coherence of medical chronologies. The Senior Medical Records Analyst will prepare clear, structured reports, timelines, and summaries for legal teams, using MRC Group’s AI and digital platforms to support case preparation. Day-to-day tasks include quality-checking collated records, identifying clinical issues or gaps, liaising with internal clinical and non-clinical colleagues, and contributing to process improvements. The role also supports training initiatives, mentors junior staff, and helps maintain high standards of data security, confidentiality, and compliance.

- Current professional qualification and registration as a nurse, midwife, or doctor, with substantial post-qualification clinical experience.
- Strong skills in clinical record review, medical chronology, and interpretation of diagnostic reports and investigations.
- Ability to produce clear, concise written reports, summaries, and timelines tailored to medico-legal audiences.
- Comfort using digital tools and secure platforms for document management, data review, and collaboration.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to identify inconsistencies or gaps in medical records.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple cases to deadlines.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work with multidisciplinary legal and clinical teams.
- Commitment to confidentiality, data protection, and professional ethics in handling sensitive clinical and legal information.
- Experience in medico-legal work, clinical negligence, or personal injury cases is essential
