Job Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and experienced secretary to provide comprehensive secretarial support to the Respiratory Team within the Medical Directorate. It is essential that applicants possess a high level of sound typing skills, hold a Medical Secretarial Qualification, and qualify for at least RSA Stage 3 (or equivalent).

Key Responsibilities

  • Work on their own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Work within time constraints and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate good organizational skills and maintain reliable records.
  • Ensure the delivery of a high-quality medical secretarial and administrative service.
  • Guide, supervise, and direct the admin team.
  • Oversee the smooth running of the department and provide support to the line manager.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential criteria

  • NVQ Business administration L4 or equivalent experience or City & Guilds (AMSPAR) Level 3 Diploma in Medical administration or equivalent medical secretary experience.
  • RSA / OCR level 3 or equivalent experience or qualification in typing.
  • ECDL or equivalent experience.
  • Experience of coordinating administration activities.
  • Experience of working as a medical secretary.
  • Experience of organizing workload and people.
