Are you a qualified Occupational Therapist seeking a new role?
We are looking for a full-time Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our CAMHS Outreach Team, providing specialist community-based support to children and young people experiencing complex and pervasive mental health difficulties. The service works with those who may struggle to engage with traditional clinic-based provision, offering flexible and responsive care within homes, schools, and community settings.
We enthusiastically welcome the knowledge and expertise of an Occupational Therapist to our experienced team of Social Workers, Nurses, and Psychologists. The role requires close multidisciplinary working to ensure coordinated, high-quality care throughout the young person’s journey in mental health services. You will support and promote young people as occupational beings – utilising Occupational Therapy assessment tools and measures, to consider impact on identity and motivation for change.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Hold a clinical caseload, acting as key worker, completing assessments and formulations, developing care plans and risk assessments, delivering evidence-based interventions, and maintaining accurate clinical records.
- Opportunity to be trained in and deliver Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.
- Collaborate to assess, plan, and provide evidence-based interventions for children and young people referred to the CAMHS Outreach, paying particular attention to opportunities for functional, creative, educational, work, leisure, interpersonal, and life skills.
- Once trained, partake in the delivery of the Dialectical Behaviour Therapy for Adolescence (DBT-A) provision. This will include being able to participate in all modalities of the therapy, including being part of the on-call phone coaching rota and DBT skills group.

- Additional Responsibilities:
- Work alongside the multi-disciplinary team to deliver a high quality of holistic care, promoting the value of Occupational Therapy.
- Work closely with a range of agencies including Social Care, schools, other CAMHS teams to meet the needs of children and young people and work collaboratively to develop/provide integrated services.
- Manage time and diary, and keep up to date and accurate records.
- Participate in regular supervision and appraisal.
- Keep up to date clinical knowledge and skills. Attend training events and courses relevant to professional and service development, and maintain a continuing professional development profile.
- Work in accordance with professional body requirements.
- Keep up to date with all mandatory training in line with trust standards.
