Senior M&E Project Manager / Contracts Manager – Nottingham

£75,000 – £85,000 + Car/Allowance + Pension + Healthcare

There aren't many senior project roles where you get the opportunity to influence a major scheme before work starts on site — and then stay with it to deliver what you've helped put together.

Mech Electrics are recruiting a Senior Project Manager / Contracts Manager for a substantial M&E-led energy and infrastructure project in Nottingham.

The Scheme

The scheme is currently in its pre-commencement phase. The person joining will initially take responsibility for helping manage that process, working through programme, delivery strategy, subcontract packages, technical coordination and mobilisation before assuming overall responsibility through construction.

This is a major, technically involved project with approximately two years of delivery ahead and, importantly, it isn't being recruited as a one-project appointment. The business has further work across the Midlands and sees this as a long-term senior operational position.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What we're looking for

You'll already have a strong background in M&E / MEP project delivery and be operating at Senior Project Manager, Project Manager or Contracts Manager level.

We're interested in people who have delivered substantial building-services projects across the built environment and who have developed a broad understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, project interfaces and the practical coordination required to take complex schemes from pre-construction through to completion.

Your background could have been developed across commercial, residential, education, healthcare, industrial, public-sector, infrastructure or other technically demanding environments. The important factor is the depth of your MEP experience rather than one particular sector.

You'll need to be comfortable taking ownership rather than simply managing an established site operation. The attraction here is being involved early enough to influence how the project is set up and then being accountable for its successful delivery.

Experience involving energy infrastructure, heat pumps, energy centres or decarbonisation projects would be useful, but it isn't essential. A strong, broad MEP delivery background is the priority.
