Location: Reading
Project: £30m refurbishment
HDS Consultancy is recruiting a Lead MEP Quantity Surveyor on behalf of a leading MEP contractor delivering a major refurbishment project in Reading. The successful candidate will lead the commercial management of the MEP works, working closely with the operational team to manage contractual obligations, project risks, change, and subcontract accounts. They will help maintain a strong safety culture across all project activities.
Key responsibilities
- Manage commercial risks and opportunities in line with the project contract.
- Identify, record, and substantiate changes and variations.
- Prepare applications for payment and secure payment in accordance with contractual requirements.
- Manage subcontract accounts through to final account settlement, with support where required.
- Monitor project progress and provide accurate commercial reporting.
- Maintain the records needed to support contractual entitlements.
- Work with the operational team to communicate contract requirements and the project’s commercial position.
- Support negotiations to agree the final account with the client.

Requirements

- Previous quantity surveying experience within M&E or building services.
- Experience in change management and subcontract account management.
- A degree or HNC level qualification, or significant relevant experience.
- A good understanding of NEC3/4 contracts is desirable.
- Ability to obtain security clearance.
