Senior Merchandiser | Market Leading, Multi-Brand Retailer | Manchester | Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 + benefits
About the Role:
We're partnering with a well-known, multi-brand retailer with genuine heritage to find an experienced Senior Merchandiser to join the team.
This business is on a real transformation journey - performance is strong and the momentum is only building, backed by excellent new leadership and a supportive, ambitious team. It's a rare opportunity to join a well-established, much-loved brand at exactly the right moment: established enough to offer real stability and resource, but changing fast enough that a Senior Merchandiser joining now will have genuine ownership and the chance to shape what comes next. This is a fast-paced, hands-on environment. We're looking for someone who wants to come in, get stuck in, and make a visible impact - not just maintain the status quo.
The Role:
As Senior Merchandiser, you'll take ownership of the trading performance and strategy for your area, working closely with the Head of Merchandising, Buying and wider commercial teams to drive sales, profitability and stock efficiency across the brand(s) you manage. Key responsibilities will include:

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
