Are you an experienced fashion Merchandiser with a strong understanding of range planning, forecasting and commercial performance?

Can you combine product instinct with data-led decision making to optimise sales, margin and inventory across a fast-moving womenswear business?

Do you thrive in entrepreneurial environments where you can work closely with Product, Design and Sourcing to shape collections and identify new opportunities for growth?

MacGregor Black is currently partnering with a high-growth womenswear fashion brand on the search for a Senior Merchandiser, based near Chester.

This is a full-time, office-based position within an ambitious and rapidly expanding ecommerce business.

Working closely with the Director of Product and wider Product, Design and Sourcing teams, you will take ownership of merchandise planning and commercial performance across the range. You will use sales data, customer insight and market trends to shape seasonal collections, manage OTB and inventory, optimise margin and ensure the right product reaches the market at the right time and at the right price.

This is an opportunity to play a key role within a growing product function, influencing both seasonal trading decisions and the longer-term merchandising strategy of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver seasonal merchandise and range plans aligned with wider brand and commercial objectives.
  • Partner closely with Design, Product Development and Sourcing to build cohesive, commercially successful collections.
  • Use historical sales performance, market insight, competitor activity and customer trends to inform future range planning.
  • Forecast seasonal sales and manage Open-to-Buy budgets across assigned categories.
  • Take ownership of achieved margin, working closely with Product Development and Sourcing to manage intake margin.
  • Monitor sell-through, stock cover, inventory levels and category performance to maintain the optimum product mix.
  • Identify assortment gaps, emerging opportunities and areas for category growth across both existing and international markets.
  • Develop and execute markdown, replenishment and stock management strategies.
  • Produce weekly reporting across product sales, inventory, stock cover and key merchandising KPIs.
  • Analyse trading performance and translate data into clear recommendations for future seasons.
  • Provide commercial insight ahead of seasonal range planning, including best-performing categories, products and changing consumer preferences.
  • Support the development of longer-term merchandising and category strategies using available commercial and customer data.
  • Work alongside Sourcing to resolve production challenges and manage the commercial impact of delays.
  • Support the seasonal critical path, ensuring key product and range milestones are achieved.
  • Participate in product reviews throughout the sampling process, providing commercial feedback where required.
  • Partner with Ecommerce and Marketing teams to communicate product priorities, performance and key commercial opportunities.
  • Collate product and customer feedback from Ecommerce and Customer Services, working with the Director of Product and wider teams to inform future actions.
  • Support and mentor junior members of the merchandising team where required.
  • Promote strong commercial awareness, accountability and collaboration across the wider Product function.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
