The Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Merchandiser to lead the commercial planning and trading strategy across designated product categories, you will play a key role in driving sales, margin and stock performance, using strong commercial judgement and insight to maximise opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning & Trading: Lead seasonal and annual merchandise planning across your categories, managing OTB budgets, forecasts and stock investment. Review weekly sales, margin and stock performance to identify opportunities and risks, translating insight into clear and timely trading actions.
- Range & Stock Management: Own allocation, replenishment and intake across multiple locations, ensuring stock is positioned in line with customer demand. Drive availability, sell-through and stock productivity while proactively managing terminal stock and reducing markdown exposure.
- Commercial Analysis: Use historical performance, customer behaviour and market trends to generate meaningful commercial insights. Influence range planning, stock investment, pricing, promotional activity and markdown decisions to improve overall category performance.
- In-Season Trading: Take ownership of in-season performance, responding quickly to trading results and changing customer demand. Reforecast sales, stock and intake as required, capitalising on emerging opportunities while effectively managing commercial risk.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Buying and other key teams to build commercially balanced ranges and ensure trading decisions are aligned. Provide clear recommendations and communicate performance, opportunities and risks confidently to senior stakeholders.
