Position: Senior Microsoft 365 Platform Engineer
Location: Hoddesdon (Onsite 5 days per week)

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Microsoft 365 Platform Engineer who can provide senior 3rd line support across Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, endpoint management, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and device build processes. The successful candidate will be onsite 5 days per week and will play a key role in supporting the IT team with escalated incidents, service requests, endpoint issues, Microsoft 365 administration, documentation, audit evidence, and operational improvements.
This role would suit someone who enjoys being technically hands-on, takes ownership of complex issues, supports colleagues, improves processes, and is comfortable working in a regulated, ITIL/ISO-aligned environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Act as the senior 3rd line escalation point for Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, endpoint, identity, access, and collaboration platform issues.
- Administer, manage, troubleshoot, and improve Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Microsoft 365 Apps, Entra ID, Intune, endpoint compliance, and device management.
- Troubleshoot Intune and Autopilot issues, including device enrolment, build failures, compliance policies, configuration profiles, application deployment, conditional access, and endpoint readiness.
- Support the IT Service Desk and wider IT team with complex incidents, service requests, user access issues, device issues, and Microsoft 365-related escalations.
- Support joiner, leaver, and mover processes by ensuring accounts, access, licences, devices, groups, and Microsoft 365 services are managed correctly.
- Use PowerShell scripting and automation to support Microsoft 365 administration, reporting, troubleshooting, housekeeping, and operational improvement.
- Support Microsoft 365 security, compliance, access controls, MFA, conditional access, role assignments, endpoint security, and device compliance.

Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a Microsoft environment, with a focus on Microsoft 365 administration.
- Extensive expertise in Microsoft 365 services, including Intune management, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Teams.
- Proven experience in leading migrations, updates, and optimizations within the Microsoft 365 environment, utilizing PowerShell scripting and automation techniques.
- Strong understanding of modern enterprise architectures, identity and authentication services, and security and compliance principles.
- Demonstrable experience implementing and enforcing Zero Trust principles across cloud collaboration platforms
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues independently and collaboratively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to a diverse stakeholder audience.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert, or equivalent certifications are preferred.
