Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior IDAM Engineer to provide L2/L3 support for a highly customised Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM) environment within a secure enterprise estate. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting critical identity lifecycle management services, maintaining integrations across multiple identity platforms, and ensuring the stability, security, and performance of core IAM services. Working closely with security, infrastructure, and operational teams, you will investigate complex identity-related issues, support service improvements, and contribute to the ongoing evolution of the organisation's identity management capability

Your role

  • Provide L2/L3 support for a highly customised Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM) environment.
  • Support and maintain identity lifecycle management, provisioning and synchronisation services.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex identity and access management incidents.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes for recurring issues.
  • Support integrations across Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID and associated identity platforms.
  • Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures and support runbooks.
  • Contribute to service improvement, automation and platform optimisation initiatives

Your skills and experience

  • Extensive hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM) within enterprise environments.
  • Strong experience supporting highly customised MIM implementations and resolving complex technical issues.
  • Proven experience providing L2/L3 operational support within business-critical IAM environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Identity and Access Management principles, including Joiner, Mover and Leaver processes, Identity Lifecycle Management and Access Governance.
  • Strong experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID and hybrid identity environments.
  • PowerShell scripting experience and the ability to review and troubleshoot C#/.NET code used within MIM customisations.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with experience resolving complex identity provisioning, synchronisation and access management issues.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience supporting Okta, BeyondTrust or other enterprise identity platforms.
  • Experience supporting Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions.
  • Knowledge of CyberArk, SailPoint or Microsoft Identity Governance capabilities.
  • Experience working within secure, regulated or highly controlled environments

Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS)

To be successfully appointed to this role you will need to undergo Baseline Personnel Security Standard checks.

There are no nationality or residency restrictions, although if you have resided outside of the UK within the last 3 years, further checks may be required.

There are other criteria and checks required for BPSS, and throughout the recruitment process, you will be asked questions about your security clearance eligibility such as, but not limited to, country of residence and nationality.
