Senior Mining Engineer
Location: United Kingdom
Responsibilities:
- Compliance with all Health and Safety regulations and prescribed industry standards.
- Compliance with all environmental stipulations made by the operating company and environmental regulators.
- Manage and contribute to mine planning and design activities and maintain operational oversight on all aspects of the mining operation.
- Keep up to date with current technologies and best practice and continuously identify and implement opportunities for process and cost improvement.
- Communicate and collaborate with all stakeholders, the company, contractors and regulators.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to a team of mining professionals.
- Manage the planning, execution and completion of mining projects. Collaborate with other employees to update the mine plan, mine resource and reserves, and produce mine production reports.

Qualifications & Experience:
- A degree in Mining Engineering from a recognized University.
- At least 8 years of experience in underground hard rock mining. Preferably with experience in narrow vein gold mining and stoping.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of mine planning, services, ventilation, pumping, rock mechanics, ground control, construction, material handling, backfill and production drill and blast.
- Working knowledge of Deswik or similar.
- Rock Mechanics experience or qualification would be an asset.
- Full clean driving license is essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
- Flexible and able to adapt to rapidly changing conditions and technical challenges.
