Senior MLOps Consultant (Azure ML / Databricks) - Contract
We are seeking an experienced MLOps Engineer / ML Platform Consultant to support the assessment, migration, and implementation of machine learning workloads onto a global AI platform. The role will combine technical assessment, architecture, hands-on engineering, and delivery, with responsibility for evaluating existing Azure ML capabilities, identifying migration requirements, defining technical approaches, and supporting the pilot migration of selected models.
The successful candidate will work across Azure ML, Databricks, MLflow, Azure DevOps, and enterprise MLOps platforms, collaborating with data science, platform engineering, and delivery teams. The role will involve assessing existing ML workflows and dependencies, implementing and testing migrated workloads, developing CI/CD and automation capabilities, and producing migration recommendations, standards, roadmaps, and reusable assets.

Responsibilities
- Work across Azure ML, Databricks, MLflow, Azure DevOps, and enterprise MLOps platforms.
- Collaborate with data science, platform engineering, and delivery teams.
- Assess existing ML workflows and dependencies.
- Implement and test migrated workloads.
- Develop CI/CD and automation capabilities.
- Produce migration recommendations, standards, roadmaps, and reusable assets.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure ML and/or Databricks-based MLOps platforms.
- Proven experience migrating or implementing production machine learning workloads and ML platforms.
- Strong knowledge of MLOps, ML lifecycle management, model deployment, monitoring, and governance.
- Experience with Databricks ML, MLflow, Unity Catalog, Workflows, and Model Serving.
- Strong Python and machine learning engineering experience, including production deployment patterns.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure/platform engineering.
- Ability to assess existing ML estates, define migration patterns and technical standards, and deliver pilot implementations hands-on.

Additional Information
This is an initial contract role at £400-440/day Umbrella rate. Based London, Hybrid working.
