Senior Mobile Developer (.NET MAUI / Xamarin)

Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne | Hybrid (3 Days Office / 2 Days Home)
Salary: £50,000–£55,000
Type: Full-time, Permanent

Overview

A well-established technology business is looking to appoint a Senior Mobile Developer to join its growing software engineering team and help deliver innovative mobile applications used by thousands of customers across the UK.

This is a hands-on senior engineering role where you'll work within a collaborative team to design, develop and maintain commercial mobile applications while contributing to the ongoing evolution of the company's mobile platform. You'll investigate complex technical challenges, improve application performance and play a key role in delivering high-quality software using modern Microsoft technologies.

The role is ideal for someone with strong commercial experience in .NET MAUI or Xamarin who enjoys solving problems, taking ownership and working closely with other experienced developers in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain commercial mobile applications using.NET MAUI and Xamarin
  • Design, build and enhance new mobile application functionality
  • Investigate and resolve issues across mobile and backend systems
  • Analyse application performance and identify optimisation opportunities
  • Collaborate with developers, testers and product stakeholders throughout delivery
  • Contribute to technical discussions, solution design and architecture decisions
  • Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code
  • Deliver high-quality software within Agile development cycles
  • Support continuous improvement across the mobile development function
  • Contribute to code reviews and engineering best practices

Requirements

  • 5+ years of commercial mobile application development experience
  • At least 2–3 years of recent commercial experience using.NET MAUI and/or Xamarin Forms
  • Strong commercial experience with C# and.NET
  • Good understanding of mobile application architecture and infrastructure
  • Experience using MVVM and XAML
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating within a close-knit engineering team
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
