Permanent role OR FTC 6 month contract

The Underwriter role assesses and sanctions mortgage applications within delegated authority, making sound, evidence-based lending decisions while delivering fair and timely outcomes for customers and brokers. The role applies established lending policy, underwriting guidance and risk appetite consistently, while using appropriate judgement to reflect individual customer circumstances. It contributes directly to underwriting quality, service performance and the strength of the mortgage portfolio.

  • Maintain the quality of the mortgage portfolio through prudent, consistent and risk-based decision-making.
  • Apply policy consistently while exercising appropriate judgement and flexibility to reflect individual customer circumstances.
  • Identify, manage and escalate credit, conduct, fraud, operational or customer risks promptly and appropriately.
  • Deliver decisions that balance responsible lending, good customer outcomes and risk appetite, including appropriate consideration of vulnerability and foreseeable harm.
  • Document decisions clearly so that the rationale, evidence considered and customer outcome can be understood and independently reviewed.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
