About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Motion Designer to join our multidisciplinary London team and help bring some of the world’s most ambitious brands to life through best-in-class motion design.

Motion plays an increasingly central role in our branding work. In this role, you’ll lead motion design and animation across a broad range of projects, from brand identities and motion principles to digital experiences, campaigns, social content, brand films and other moving-image applications.

  • You’ll work closely with Executive Creative Directors, Design Directors, strategists, client leads and wider creative teams to translate brand strategy and visual identities into distinctive, coherent and engaging motion.
  • You’ll be involved from the earliest stages of creative exploration through to final delivery, helping shape the creative direction and ensuring the work is both creatively ambitious and technically excellent.
  • As a senior member of the team, you’ll take ownership of projects, lead motion work with confidence and help establish the right creative approach for every brief.
  • You’ll present and explain your work to internal teams and clients, contribute to pitches and new business opportunities, and help raise the standard of motion across the studio.
  • You’ll also play an important role in supporting and mentoring other designers, animators and creative partners. By sharing your knowledge and experience, you’ll help develop the team’s motion capability and contribute to the continued growth of our offer.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About you

You’re a motion specialist with a strong portfolio demonstrating how you use movement to build brands, tell stories and create memorable experiences. You understand that great motion is not simply about making things move, it is about expressing a brand’s personality, creating emotion and making ideas more powerful.

  • You have an expert understanding of animation principles, composition, typography, editing, pacing and storytelling.
  • You can move comfortably between bold, energetic animation and more refined, cinematic brand expression, adapting your approach to suit different audiences, platforms and visual styles.
  • You’ll have significant experience working as a Motion Designer within a leading branding, design, advertising or creative agency, alongside a strong portfolio of motion identity, animation, film, digital, social or campaign work.
  • You’ll have experience leading motion design projects and contributing to the creative direction of wider brand programmes, with a strong understanding of how motion can extend and amplify brand identities across multiple touch-points.
  • You’ll be highly proficient in Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro and Illustrator, with strong video editing and moving-image storytelling skills.
  • You’ll be comfortable presenting work and communicating creative rationale to clients and senior stakeholders, as well as collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and directing or briefing external production partners where required.
  • We’re looking for someone who is interested in mentoring others and helping to develop motion capability within a studio. Experience with generative AI workflows for motion and creative exploration would be valuable, while familiarity with tools such as Cavalry would be an advantage.
  • Above all, you’ll bring energy, originality, curiosity and a deep understanding of how motion and film can make brands more distinctive, engaging and culturally relevant.
  • You’ll be confident working independently, while also knowing when to collaborate, challenge ideas and bring others into the process.
