Senior Multi Skilled Operative
We are now seeking an experienced Senior Multi Skilled Operative to undertake high-quality multi-skilled repairs, maintenance, building, installation, and improvement works across Cornwall in support of responsive, planned, and minor works delivery. The postholder will apply a core trade qualification together with broad multi-trade capability to deliver safe, compliant, and customer-focused works across a varied property portfolio.
You will support the effective delivery of the Construction & Property business plan through the efficient coordination and utilisation of labour, materials, plant, subcontractors, and company assets. The postholder will work closely with Supervisors, colleagues, and specialist subcontractors to ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards, with a focus on right-first-time completion, customer satisfaction, and value for money.
Duties will include (but not limited to):
- Undertake responsive repairs, planned maintenance, and minor improvement works across domestic, commercial, and public sector properties throughout Cornwall, ensuring work is completed to the required quality, safety, and performance standards.
- Apply a recognised trade specialism alongside a broad range of multi-trade skills to carry out maintenance, installation, alteration, repair, and finishing works across a variety of property types.
- Plan and organise daily work activities, including assessing work requirements, identifying resource needs, selecting appropriate materials and equipment, and delivering works safely, efficiently, and effectively, either independently or as part of a team.
- Support Supervisors in the day-to-day delivery of programmes of work by providing accurate progress updates, identifying additional or follow-on works, escalating risks and issues, and contributing to the effective scheduling and completion of tasks.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers, tenants, members of the public, subcontractors, and colleagues, delivering a professional, responsive, and customer-focused service at all times.

About You
- Evidence of competence of 3 or more trades in construction and maintenance skills – e.g. Carpentry, Plastering, Roofing, Kitchen and bathroom fitting, etc.
- You will hold a CSCS card or be willing to obtain one.
- Possess or has the ability and willingness to achieve a relevant City and Guilds Craft or equivalent in a core trade certification.
- Demonstrates comprehensive technical skills in several core trades demonstrating broad experience in building construction and maintenance.
- Demonstrates a sound understanding and working knowledge of the Health & Safety at Work Act.
- You will have good general multi-skilled abilities with the ability to complete the task in hand.
- You will have a good level of literacy and numeracy skills.
- You will be highly competent and motivated with a positive can-do attitude and exceptional customer service skills.
- Hold a full UK driving licence.

- Working Hours: 37 hours per week
- Contract Type: Permanent
- Base: Sites across Cornwall.
