A bit about the role
Reporting to the Retail Sales Controller, the Senior National Account Manager owns the commercial direction and performance of the Asda, Morrisons and Morrisons Daily portfolio. The role leads the end-to-end customer agenda, from strategy, Joint Business Planning and senior negotiation through to in-store and digital execution, performance management and investment governance.
As a senior leader in Retail Channels, the role will shape wider channel thinking, provide clear commercial challenge, deputise where required and mobilise cross-functional teams behind the opportunities that will make the greatest difference for players, retailers, Allwyn and Good Causes. The role combines direct account ownership with purposeful people leadership, creating the clarity, capability and accountability needed for the team to deliver brilliantly.
What you’ll be doing
Commercial ownership and growth
- Own the strategy, customer plan and commercial performance for designated major retailers across the Asda, Morrisons and Morrisons Daily portfolio, with clear targets for sales, revenue, profit, responsible growth and returns to Good Causes.
- Create and deliver compelling Joint Business Plans that align Allwyn’s ambition with each retailer’s strategy, operating model, customer priorities and growth agenda.
- Lead senior commercial negotiations, construct evidence-based proposals and secure customer commitment to plans that increase distribution, availability, visibility, engagement and sustainable sales.
- Analyse commercial, operational and shopper performance to identify opportunities, address risks and translate insight into decisive action.
- Own the portfolio forecast and retailer investment plan, including trade marketing and capital expenditure, ensuring disciplined governance, return on investment and compliance with Allwyn processes.
- Identify and commercialise opportunities across retail, e-commerce, Scratchcards, product placement, activation and relevant new technology initiatives.
Customer leadership and execution
- Build trusted, influential relationships from buyer to director level across commercial, operations, marketing, digital, technology and other relevant retailer functions.
- Lead the deployment of Allwyn’s transformation and new licence priorities across the portfolio, ensuring plans are practical, fully aligned and executed at pace.
- Create robust retailer and store communication plans that improve availability, compliance, product execution and colleague engagement.
- Lead strategically important trials and projects, coordinating retailer, internal and third-party stakeholders from concept and commercial case through to implementation and evaluation.
- Deliver Responsible Play priorities with customers, embedding player protection, age controls and healthy play principles into account plans and execution.
Delivering through people
- Directly line manage a National Account Manager and a National Account Executive, setting clear outcomes, decision rights and performance expectations aligned to the portfolio plan.
- Coach the team to build stronger commercial judgement, retailer insight, negotiation capability and confident senior stakeholder management.
- Create an inclusive, high-support and high-accountability environment where colleagues can do their best work and understand how their contribution supports Good Causes.
- Use regular performance conversations, focused development plans and meaningful delegation to accelerate capability, ownership and succession strength.
- Lead through others rather than becoming the delivery bottleneck, intervening where seniority adds value while empowering the team to own their customer plans and commitments.
- Role-model Allwyn’s purpose and values in every decision, balancing commercial pace and ambition with integrity, responsibility, collaboration and care for colleagues, retailers and players.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Build productive cross-functional relationships and challenge constructively to remove barriers, improve decisions and deliver the right outcome for the wider business.
- Represent the Asda, Morrisons and Morrisons Daily portfolio in leadership forums, provide clear performance narratives and escalate material opportunities or risks with recommended action.
- Deputise for the Retail Sales Controller where required and contribute to wider strategic retail projects beyond the directly owned portfolio.
What experience we’re looking for
- Significant experience leading major multiple retail accounts with high turnover and complexity, from strategy and business planning through to execution and performance delivery.

- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, with the confidence to communicate to senior internal and external audiences.
- Proficiency in relevant office, collaboration and reporting tools, plus a full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the Asda, Morrisons and Morrisons Daily portfolio and wider UK as required.
