Senior National Account Manager - Environmental Services/ Recycling & Waste Management

As a Senior National Account Manager in the Environmental Services/ Recycling & Waste Management sector, you'll focus on managing key accounts and fostering strong client relationships. Your role will help drive sales and ensure customers receive the best solutions to meet their needs.

A leading provider of recycling technology and sustainability solutions, supporting major retailers and operators with infrastructure that enables circular economy initiatives and regulatory compliance.

Description

  • Manage and develop relationships with key strategic accounts.
  • Lead commercial negotiations, contract renewals, and account growth initiatives.
  • Develop and implement account strategies aligned to business objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue, customer retention, and market share.
  • Act as the senior escalation point for customer and commercial matters.
  • Prepare and deliver account reviews, forecasts, and performance reports.
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Support and mentor colleagues within the account management team.
  • Monitor market activity and provide commercial insight to the wider business.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure excellent customer outcomes.
  • Represent the business at customer meetings, events, and industry forums.
  • Ensure all activities are delivered in line with company policies and values.

Profile

A successful Senior National Account Manager should have:

  • Proven success in a Senior National Account Manager, Key Account Director, or similar strategic commercial leadership role, ideally within retail equipment, FMCG, manufacturing, or a complex B2B solutions environment.
  • Demonstrable experience managing and developing large, multi-site national accounts, with responsibility for senior-level negotiations, commercial partnerships, and long-term contractual agreements.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to identify growth opportunities, build compelling business cases, and negotiate high-value commercial agreements.
  • Track record of influencing and building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, including Director, Executive, and Board-level decision-makers.
  • Strategic and forward-thinking approach to account management, with the ability to develop and implement long-term account growth strategies aligned to client and business objectives.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and reporting skills, capable of delivering impactful messages to both internal and external audiences.
  • Highly organised and self-motivated, with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and a portfolio of complex, high-value accounts with minimal supervision.
  • Results-driven with a strong focus on client retention, revenue growth, and delivering exceptional customer outcomes.
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel nationally on a regular basis, including occasional overnight stays where required.
