Senior National Account Manager

Greater Manchester | Up to £70,000 + £7,000 car allowance + bonus up to 50%

A branded consumer goods business is recruiting a Senior National Account Manager to take ownership of strategically important national retail customers and play a leading role in the transformation of its commercial function.

The brands are household names with genuine consumer recognition, and the retail relationships are well established. The business is changing how it grows those accounts: moving away from promotionally led trading towards strategic account management, with meaningful joint business planning, data-led propositions and customer plans built around sustainable, long-term growth.

A new sales methodology has been introduced alongside investment in training, data, and commercial tools. This hire is intended to be one of the senior commercial people who helps demonstrate what excellent strategic account management looks like and embeds those standards across the team. The wider direction is towards stronger JBP, customer and consumer insight, sharper propositions, and much more disciplined account planning.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
