Are you an experienced Senior National Account Manager from a food, beverage or FMCG manufacturing background?

Do you have a proven track record of growing major retail or branded accounts while improving margin and profitability?

Are you confident leading complex customer negotiations and developing junior members of a commercial team?

MacGregor Black is partnering with an established food and beverage manufacturing business to recruit a Senior National Account Manager. This is a permanent role based in Bristol, requiring two to three days per week on site, alongside customer visits.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will take ownership of several of the business’s largest and most strategically important customer accounts. You will be responsible for strengthening customer partnerships, delivering profitable growth and coordinating activity across Operations, Technical, Finance, Planning and NPD.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop a portfolio of major strategic customer accounts.
  • Build robust joint business plans that deliver sustainable sales and profit growth.
  • Deliver agreed revenue, margin and profitability targets.
  • Lead customer reviews covering commercial performance, service, quality, innovation and future opportunities.
  • Manage pricing reviews, budgets, forecasts, commercial proposals and contract renewals.
  • Lead complex negotiations, including inflationary recovery and cost-price increases.
  • Identify opportunities to increase distribution, sales, margin and long-term customer value.
  • Lead customer-specific NPD and commercial projects from concept through to launch.
  • Partner cross-functionally to resolve customer challenges and improve service performance.
  • Support new business opportunities, tenders and commercial proposals.
  • Provide coaching and development to two junior members of the commercial team.
  • Support the Commercial Director on wider commercial priorities when required

What We’re Looking For:

  • At least five years’ experience in a National Account Manager, Senior National Account Manager or comparable commercial role.
  • Strong experience within food, beverage or wider FMCG manufacturing.
  • Direct responsibility for major retail, branded or strategically important customer accounts.
  • A proven record of delivering profitable account growth.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, including pricing, forecasting, budgeting and margin management.
  • Experience leading customer projects across multiple business functions.
  • Confident negotiation, influencing and senior stakeholder-management skills.
  • Previous experience coaching or developing junior commercial colleagues.
  • A collaborative, accountable and commercially driven approach.

Salary:

£65,000–£75,000 plus performance-related bonus and car allowance.
