🌱 Who we are
Mother Root is the Ginger non-alcoholic aperitif. We harness the power of apple cider vinegar to serve up a dose of good feelings. Our mission is to redefine what it means to drink well and feel good - with drinks that are complex, delicious and rooted in nature.
Fresh from securing three offers on BBC Dragons' Den, we're on an exciting growth journey — having scaled to a £10m brand in 2026 with over 270% year-on-year growth, and ranked 11th in The Sunday Times 100 list of Britain's fastest-growing private companies. We're now building towards £50m+ in the years ahead. With our small but mighty team, we're building one of the UK's fastest-growing non-alcoholic brands, both online and in retail.
We're warm, ambitious and fiercely original. We bring energy to everything, keep things simple and done properly, and put people at the heart of every decision.
🚀 The Role
You’ll own and build a core part of Mother Root’s Off-Trade business - two of our most important grocery accounts - Sainsbury’s & Ocado, as well as ownership of our OOH and wholesale channel.
Reporting into Head of Sales, you’ll take full ownership of these accounts end-to-end, from JBPs and promotional strategy through to the day-to-day, while building out our out-of-home business with existing partners like Majestic and the garden centre groups, as well as new accounts you’ll win yourself.
This is a build-and-own role, not an account-minding one, and a chance to join one of the UK’s fastest growing drinks brands at a pivotal period of growth.
📋 What You’ll Do
- Build and grow relationships with our Grocery (Ocado, Sainsburys) and OOH wholesaler & retailer partners (including Majestic Wine, National Trust, Dobbies & Blue Diamond) to grow Mother Root and the wider non-alc drinks category
- Own the strategy and growth of your accounts and the off-trade channel end-to-end
- Manage your own pipeline of new key accounts, in line with Mother Root’s off-trade strategy
- Own the day-to-day management of customer accounts, including promo and activation plans, turning ambitious ideas into brilliant execution.
- Own investment and promotional spend decisions within your channel P&L, focussing on brand building within key partners
- Use customer, shopper and category data to spot opportunities and make recommendations that drive growth.
- Work closely with Brand, Supply Chain and Operations to deliver best-in-class launches, activations and promotional plans.
- Forecast accurately, track performance and continually look for ways to improve how we serve our customers.
- Keep a finger on the pulse of the market, sharing retailer, shopper and competitor insights that help shape our commercial strategy.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

💫 You’ll Thrive Here If You
- You're excited by the pace, variety and opportunity that comes with a fast-growing challenger brand - no two days are the same.
- You're naturally curious and always looking for better ways to do things.
- You enjoy taking ownership and are motivated by making a genuine impact, rather than waiting for permission.
- You're collaborative, low ego and happy to roll your sleeves up, whether it's preparing for a buyer meeting or helping at a sampling day.
- You're ambitious, resilient and excited by the opportunity to grow your career alongside a business that's growing fast.
- You're energised by breadth and ownership over a big support structure - you want to build a channel, not inherit a finished one. Some accounts are small; the opportunity is large.
- As the channel grows, so does the role - this is a chance to build off-trade into something that warrants its own team, and to grow into leading it.
