Senior National Account Manager – Tesco
The Opportunity
An established European food group is looking for a Senior National Account Manager to take commercial ownership of a portfolio of major UK grocery customers, likely to include Tesco.
The business manufactures an innovative range of chilled and frozen convenience foods across the UK and Europe. With annual group sales of approximately €250 million, it offers the scale and capabilities of an international manufacturer alongside the autonomy and pace of a close-knit UK commercial team.
This is an influential role with the freedom to shape customer strategy, develop new product opportunities and deliver profitable growth. You’ll have access to extensive manufacturing and innovation capabilities, providing a strong platform to secure listings, expand ranges and build long-term retailer partnerships.
It could be an excellent next step for an ambitious Grocery National Account Manager ready to progress into a broader and more strategic role.
The Role
You will:
- Take full commercial ownership of major grocery accounts
- Develop customer strategies, account plans and joint business plans
- Build trusted relationships with buyers and wider retailer teams
- Lead pricing, tenders, contracts and commercial negotiations
- Identify new listings, range extensions and category growth opportunities
- Work closely with NPD to bring commercially relevant products to market
- Manage budgets, forecasts, margins and account profitability
- Collaborate with supply chain, technical, operations and finance
- Provide commercial leadership and support to junior team members

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
